United Airlines Hikes Lounge and Credit Card Fees, Adds New Perks

United Airlines is raising annual fees for its airport lounge memberships and rewards credit cards, testing how much travelers are willing to pay for premium perks. Individual lounge memberships will now cost $750 or 94,000 loyalty points per year, while access for two guests will jump to $1,400 or 175,000 miles—more than double the previous rate.

Credit card fees are also increasing, with the United Explorer card rising from $95 to $150 annually and offering a $60 rideshare credit. The United Quest card will now cost $350, including $100 in rideshare credits and $200 in United travel credits. The premium Club Infinite Card will jump to $695, adding $150 in rideshare credits and the chance to earn elite status through spending. United aims to boost loyalty revenue, which brought in $3.49 billion last year, driven largely by co-branded card spending and lounge memberships.
