Trump Rallies in Iowa and Kansas in Final Push Before Tuesday's Midterms
President Trump made closing campaign stops in Iowa and Kansas Sunday, rallying for Senate candidate Ashley Hinson and governor candidate Zach Lahn as Republicans fight to hold Congress.

President Donald Trump made his closing campaign push Sunday with stops in Iowa and Kansas, as Republicans fight to hold their narrow congressional majorities in Tuesday's midterm elections.
At an Iowa rally supporting Republican Senate candidate Ashley Hinson and Republican gubernatorial candidate Zach Lahn, Trump defended his White House ballroom renovation project after former President Barack Obama compared it to the Cheesecake Factory.
"It's actually a good company ... He shouldn't be disparaging it, actually," Trump said.
Trump argued the renovations were needed to preserve the White House as a "symbol of America," pointing to what he described as long-overdue and hazardous conditions.
"The helicopters were landing in the mud for years and years. Dangerous, actually," Trump said.
"We built the most magnificent heliport you've ever seen. We're building things and we're fixing it."
"It can't have exterior moldings half-falling off. It can't have broken windows at the main entrance where the window has been broken for years. They can't have all these things, Barack."
Trump also took aim at Obama's presidential center in Chicago, calling it "one of the ugliest places I've ever seen," and dismissed concerns about China spying on the U.S., telling the crowd that American agencies spy back: "We're doing it to them also. But we do it even better."
House Speaker Mike Johnson said Republicans can defy midterm history and hold their narrow House majority, despite polls showing Democrats with momentum. Midterm elections have historically favored the party out of power.
Election Day is Tuesday, with control of both the House and Senate at stake.
