Trump Outlines D.C. Promenade and Garden of American Heroes Plans
President Trump described plans for a walkway from the Lincoln Memorial to the Potomac River and a National Garden of American Heroes with 250 to 500 statues.
President Donald Trump outlined plans for a promenade behind the Lincoln Memorial and a National Garden of American Heroes during remarks at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool on Monday.
Trump described the proposed promenade as a walkway leading toward the Potomac River. He said the garden would feature between 250 and 500 American heroes in statue form.
The proposals were among several Washington projects he discussed at the event, alongside the Reflecting Pool renovation and a proposed triumphal arch.
The remarks described plans, not completed projects. The promenade and heroes garden have not opened, and the speech did not provide an opening date for either one.
