Tesla Recalls Over 46,000 Cybertrucks Due to Exterior Panel Defect

Tesla announced a recall of 46,096 Cybertrucks in the U.S. due to a defect that can cause an exterior panel to detach while the vehicle is in motion. The problem stems from the cant rail, a stainless-steel trim panel, which can delaminate and separate from the truck. The recall comes after more than six callbacks for the electric pickup last year, raising further concerns about quality control for the recently launched model.

To address the issue, Tesla will replace the faulty rail assembly at no cost to owners. Despite the recall, shares of the electric vehicle maker remained largely unchanged in premarket trading, indicating limited investor concern. This latest recall adds to the growing scrutiny over Tesla’s production standards as the company continues to expand its lineup of electric vehicles.
