A small private plane crashed in Colonie on Monday morning, prompting a major emergency response. The plane went down near Maxwell Road, just southeast of Albany International Airport.

The Albany International Airport confirmed the plane was privately owned and that the crash did not affect commercial flights. The Colonie Police Department advised residents to avoid the area due to ongoing emergency operations involving police, fire, and EMS.
