Six Dead, Nine Injured in Overnight Sunset Park Fire, FDNY Says
Three firefighters and two police officers were among those hurt in the Brooklyn blaze. The cause remains under investigation.

Six people died and nine others were injured when a three-alarm fire tore through a residential building in Brooklyn's Sunset Park neighborhood early Thursday, according to the FDNY.
Firefighters responded to 58th Street around 1:40 a.m. and found the first and second floors engulfed. More than 230 fire and emergency medical personnel responded as flames spread to a neighboring building.
Four people died at the scene. Two others were taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died, officials said.
The nine injured included three firefighters and two police officers. The injuries ranged from minor to serious, according to fire officials.
The blaze caused the second floor and staircase to collapse. The Department of Buildings and the Red Cross were called to the scene.
Investigators found lithium-ion batteries and requested a hazmat team, but the cause of the fire had not been established. Fire officials said finding such devices in a home does not by itself mean they started a fire.
