Singapore Airlines said Tuesday that about 46,000 booking records were accessed without permission in a data breach involving Amadeus, a technology provider that supports some of the airline's reservation and booking processes.

The exposed information included customer names, booking reference numbers, itineraries and booking classes, according to the airline's statement reported by CNA and The Straits Times.

About 620 booking records may also have contained email addresses, phone numbers, travel document details and KrisFlyer membership numbers.

Singapore Airlines said its own IT systems were not breached. Amadeus told the airline that bank account and credit card information was not exposed and no bookings were changed.

Amadeus has put containment measures and additional safeguards in place. Singapore Airlines said it has notified the relevant authorities and is contacting affected customers with upcoming travel to change their booking reference numbers.
