Unit 730 officers will reportedly replace the private guards protecting Eisenkot from Nov. 4, a change from the existing security arrangement.

Gadi Eisenkot is set to receive direct protection from the Shin Bet's Unit 730 starting Wednesday, Nov. 4, with its officers replacing the private guards who currently accompany him, reports say.

The change is an increase in the level of protection, not Eisenkot's first security detail. His party previously said a private company would protect him under Unit 730's direct guidance and operation.

Unit 730 is the Shin Bet unit responsible for protecting senior Israeli officials. Reports on Tuesday said its personnel would now take over Eisenkot's protection directly.

The reports come as Eisenkot and other opposition leaders hold talks about forming Israel's next government. No direct public Shin Bet statement confirming the new arrangement was located at the time of preparation.
