Oakland police are investigating the theft of $11.4 million in Nvidia cargo, according to a Bay Area News Group report published Wednesday. No arrests have been announced.

The report describes a shipment picked up in Oakland on Aug. 29, not a newly reported theft that occurred this week. The loss was not realized or reported until early September, authorities told the outlet.

Six pallets of Nvidia cargo were scheduled to travel to Fort Worth, Texas. A truck bearing a food transportation company's logo collected the load as planned, but the truck and its drivers later disappeared from view while heading south.

Investigators tried to trace the vehicle and followed several stops lasting multiple hours. Authorities said they eventually lost its trail in San Bernardino County.

The report did not identify which Nvidia products or chip models were in the shipment. The food company's logo on the truck does not establish that the company participated in the theft.

Authorities described the operation as apparently sophisticated. Bay Area News Group said the case remains under investigation, with no announced arrests or reported recovery in its account.
