Palo Alto Networks in Talks to Buy Clutch Security for About $500 Million, Report Says
The Israeli startup secures the digital credentials used by AI agents. The reported talks may not result in a deal.

Palo Alto Networks is in talks to acquire Israeli cybersecurity startup Clutch Security for about $500 million, according to a report citing people familiar with the negotiations.
The discussions were reported by The Information and covered by other outlets Thursday. No completed transaction has been announced, and the talks may not lead to a deal.
Clutch, founded in late 2023, develops software to track and secure non-human identities, including the credentials and permissions that AI agents use to access corporate systems.
Those credentials include API keys, service accounts, tokens and passwords. The company's tools help organizations map that access, identify excessive or exposed permissions and detect suspicious activity.
If finalized, the acquisition would be Palo Alto's fifth announced deal this year, according to the report, as CEO Nikesh Arora expands the company's AI-security business.
The reported price is approximate and final terms remain unclear. Palo Alto told The Information it does not comment on rumors or speculation, while Clutch did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
