New Jersey Ticket Wins $847 Million Powerball Jackpot
A single ticket matched all six numbers in Wednesday's drawing. The cash option is $363.1 million before taxes.

A single ticket sold in New Jersey won the $847 million Powerball jackpot in Wednesday night's drawing, lottery officials announced Thursday.
The ticket matched white balls 15, 34, 41, 53 and 56, plus the red Powerball 21. The Power Play multiplier was two.
The winner can choose the $847 million annuity or a $363.1 million lump-sum payment. Both amounts are before taxes. The annuity is paid in 30 increasing payments over 29 years.
Powerball ranked the prize as the ninth-largest jackpot in the game's history. The previous jackpot was won in Illinois on Aug. 12, when a ticket hit a $1.04 billion prize.
More than 1 million tickets won cash prizes in Wednesday's drawing, according to Powerball. That included 25 tickets matching four white balls and the Powerball for $50,000, and four tickets with the same match and Power Play for $100,000.
The jackpot resets to $20 million for Saturday's drawing. The winning New Jersey retailer and ticket holder were not identified in Powerball's announcement.
