Kraft Heinz to Sell North American Coffee Business in $650 Million Deal

Kraft Heinz has agreed to sell its North American coffee business to an affiliate of One Rock Capital Partners in a deal that values the business at $650 million, while keeping a 30% noncontrolling stake.
The company announced the agreement Wednesday, November 4. The transaction includes Maxwell House, Gevalia, Nabob, Yuban, Tassimo, Ethical Bean and Sanka.
The sale is expected to close in mid-2027, subject to regulatory approval and other customary closing conditions. The agreement does not mean the business has already changed hands.
Kraft Heinz expects about $500 million in net cash proceeds after taxes and plans to use that money to pay down debt. The $650 million figure is the enterprise value of the coffee business, not the amount of cash Kraft Heinz expects to receive.
Chief Executive Steve Cahillane described the transaction as a step toward refocusing the company's portfolio and supporting growth in its core businesses. One Rock said it intends to invest in the coffee brands and work with retail partners.
The deal would give One Rock control of a portfolio that includes some long-established North American coffee names while leaving Kraft Heinz with a minority interest. Completion remains dependent on the required approvals and closing conditions.
