Israel’s security forces have confirmed the elimination of 11 terrorists responsible for carrying out brutal attacks during the October 7, 2023 massacre. The joint operation, conducted by the IDF and Shin Bet, targeted individuals directly involved in the murder and abduction of Israeli civilians and soldiers.
The operation began on March 18, 2025, in the Gaza Strip under the leadership of the IDF’s Southern Command, with vital support from the Intelligence Branch and the Air Force. During the course of the mission, nine terrorists were killed, while two others had been eliminated in earlier precision strikes.
Among those neutralized was Hassan Na’em, who kidnapped Sergeant Shaked Dahan; Ismail Shakash, responsible for murdering civilians, throwing grenades, and launching a missile; and Jalal Qaraan, who not only participated in killings but also documented them while raiding both civilian and military locations. Additional terrorists — Muhammad Issa, Muhammad Shabaki, Fares Kershin, Yahya Estelle, Muhammad Zakar, and Muhammad Astel — all took part in the coordinated raids on October 7.
Prior to this operation, two other key operatives had been removed. Muhammad Atsfur, who launched attacks on Israeli forces during the kidnappings, and Khaled Al-Din, who murdered civilians and exploited their property during the assault, were both killed in earlier targeted missions.
This operation marks a continued effort by Israel to bring justice to those responsible for the atrocities committed during the October 7 attacks and to prevent future threats to its citizens.
