Some areas of New Jersey could see frost again overnight, and fog may develop late tonight into Tuesday morning and again Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service in Mount Holly said in its Monday morning forecast discussion.

The best chance for lower visibilities will be along and southeast of the I-95 corridor and across the coastal plain. Confidence in any dense fog is low, the office said, but where fog does form it will likely be slow to clear after sunrise Tuesday and Wednesday.

Otherwise, high pressure keeps the region dry through Wednesday with temperatures climbing each day: highs in the mid 60s Monday, upper 60s to low 70s Tuesday, and low to mid 70s Wednesday, back above normal. Overnight lows turn milder after tonight, ending the frost threat for the rest of the week.

The tranquil pattern breaks down late in the week. The Weather Service puts rain chances at 50 to 70 percent for most of the area Thursday into Friday, with unsettled weather possibly lingering into the weekend, though it cautioned that considerable uncertainty remains on how the system evolves.
