FBI Arrests Oklahoma Man Suspected of Mailing White-Powder Letters to Officials
Fox News reports an Oklahoma City man was arrested over hundreds of suspicious letters sent during the 2024 and 2026 election cycles.

The FBI arrested an Oklahoma City man early Monday on suspicion of sending hundreds of letters containing white powder to public officials across the country, Fox News reported Tuesday, citing a federal law enforcement source.
The source said the letters went to more than 100 locations, including secretary of state offices and election offices, during the 2024 and 2026 election cycles. The suspect's initial court appearance was expected Tuesday afternoon.
Fox News reported that the investigation involved the FBI's Oklahoma City field office and Criminal Division, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, U.S. Capitol Police and Oklahoma City police.
The arrest comes amid a wider federal investigation into suspicious mailings to congressional and election offices before the midterm elections. Authorities have warned recipients to treat suspicious substances as potentially hazardous while testing and efforts to intercept additional mail continue.
Fox News cited an Oct. 23 FBI advisory saying no hazardous material had been identified in the substances tested at that point. That finding did not establish that every mailing was harmless, and laboratory testing was still ongoing.
The reported arrest does not establish guilt. Details about the man's identity, specific charges and the evidence against him were not included in the account used for this report.
