New Jersey homeowners and renters have two days left to apply for the Anchor property-tax relief program, which offers up to $1,750 per eligible recipient. The program, designed to offset property taxes paid in 2021, is available to homeowners earning up to $250,000 annually and renters earning up to $150,000.

Originally set to end on November 30, the application deadline was extended to December 6 to account for the Thanksgiving holiday. Anchor benefits are part of a broader state effort to provide more than $2 billion in tax relief.
Governor Phil Murphy has also announced plans to streamline the application process for similar programs in the future, including a new senior homeowner tax relief initiative expected by 2026.
Eligible residents are encouraged to apply through the Division of Taxation’s website to ensure they don’t miss this opportunity for significant financial assistance.
