UPDATE: Chosson Arrested During Sheva Brachos Freed After Overnight Protests, Political Uproar
Yaari Liberman, the newlywed yeshiva student arrested on his way to his sheva brachos celebration, was released from military prison Monday morning following protests and political intervention.

Yaari Liberman, the newlywed yeshiva student arrested on his way to a sheva brachos celebration in his honor, was released from military prison Monday morning, one day after his arrest, as previously reported.
Liberman, a resident of Modi'in who is classified as a draft evader, was arrested Sunday afternoon by military police detectives as he stepped off a bus with his wife. The arrest was reportedly carried out using cellphone tracking, and he was sentenced to 20 days in military prison.
The arrest sparked overnight protests and clashes in Jerusalem and Beit Shemesh, including road blockages and confrontations with police. Haredi Knesset members protested the arrest and held discussions with the head of the IDF Personnel Directorate, Maj. Gen. Dado Bar Kalifa, leading to the decision to release Liberman early.
His release was conditional on signing a commitment to report to the IDF recruitment office upon receiving a future summons. His family asked the public to refrain from gathering near the prison and to respect the family's privacy.
The IDF Spokesperson's Unit said in response that the Military Police are responsible for enforcing the Defense Service Law and that the arrest was part of a proactive operation to locate draft evaders.
