British Airways has announced the suspension of all its flights from Southampton Airport for the summer of 2025, affecting routes to popular destinations such as Dublin, Faro, Malaga, and Majorca.
The airline, operating under its BA City Flyer subsidiary, did not provide a reason for the decision, leaving many customers surprised and disappointed. Affected travelers will be contacted with options for rebooking on alternative flights—either with British Airways or another airline—or offered a full refund.
An airport spokesperson expressed disappointment at the loss of the routes, but reassured the public that the airport is in ongoing discussions with other airlines to backfill the services. This decision comes almost a year after Southampton Airport completed the extension of its runway, which was deemed crucial for the airport’s future and for accommodating larger aircraft.
