NY Waterway adds earlier Belford ferry and evening return in new schedule

NY Waterway's schedule changes for the Belford ferry took effect Monday, adding an earlier morning departure and an evening return trip after riders pushed for better service on the route.

Under the new schedule, a 5:15 a.m. departure from Belford now runs Monday through Thursday, and a 6:15 p.m. departure from Pier 79 in Manhattan now runs Monday through Friday, according to the operator's advisory and updated timetable. The 6:30 a.m. Belford departure moves up to 6:20 a.m.

The changes were published by the operator in an advisory dated Oct. 23 and took effect Nov. 2. Local media reported the adjustments followed calls from commuters for more service on the route.
