Chabad Shluchim Gather at the Ohel and 770 During Kinus Weekend

Thousands of Chabad shluchim have come together in New York for the 2026 International Kinus Hashluchim, with a visit to the Ohel and the annual group photo outside 770 Eastern Parkway among the weekend's gatherings.
The weekend also included a Thursday-evening gathering at Brooklyn's Major R. Owens Community Center, where shluchim discussed security threats, antisemitism and the challenges of Jewish outreach. Organizers emphasized supporting fellow shluchim and strengthening Jewish learning and identity while keeping Chabad centers welcoming.
On Friday, November 6, some 6,500 shluchim from around 110 countries visited the Ohel in Queens, the resting place of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. They davened, learned and caught up with fellow shluchim, many of whom spend the year serving communities far from one another.
On Sunday morning, the shluchim gathered outside 770 in Crown Heights for the traditional group photo. The video below shows that part of the Kinus weekend.
Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, director of the conference, said the shluchim carry their communities' concerns with them, from war and antisemitism to everyday personal struggles. The Kinus gives them a chance to draw strength from one another before returning home.
For Rabbi Zvi Drizin, who leads Chabad at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, the gathering is a time when "lone trees come back to the forest." Rabbi Mendel Shmotkin of Lubavitch of Wisconsin described it as coming home.
