Today, on the 22nd of Teves, is the first Yahrtzeit of Rabbi Matisyahu Salomon ZT”L (1937-2024).

He was the Mashgiach in Gateshead Yeshiva and later became the Mashgiach in BMG Lakewood. He was a prolific author and speaker. He was very involved in Vaad L’Hatzolas Nidchei Yisroel, an advocacy organization seeing to the spiritual needs of Jews in Russia, Georgia and Azerbaijan.

He spearheaded the Citifield Asifa which led to a campaign to have internet filters installed on all computers and smartphones.

He was the address for many couples and families who were dealing with Sholom Bayis and chinuch issues.
