Today, on the 24th of Elul, is the Yahrtzeit of Rabbi Yisrael Meir Kagan HaKohen of Radin, the Chofetz Chaim (1838-1933).
One of the most influential Tzadikim of modern times. Mechaber of over 20 Seforim including the Shemiras Halashon, Chofetz Chaim on Lashon Hara and the Mishna Berura on Shulchan Aruch.
