Today, on the 19th of Tammuz, is the Yahrtzeit of Rabbi Eliezer Yehudah Finkel (1877-1965).

Rosh Yeshiva of Mir in Poland & later Yerushalayim. Son of the Alter of Slabodka. Very influential in saving the Mir Yeshiva throughout WWII and eventually re-establishing it after the war. Mechaber of Yad Eliezer.
