On this day 23 years ago September 11th, 2001, the worst terrorist attacks were carried out on American soil. 19 terrorists highjacked 4 planes. 2 creahed into the Twin Towers in NYC, 1 into the Pentagon in Washington DC and the 4th was downed by the heroic passengers in a field in PA.
In the Yiddishe calendar, the date is the 23rd day of Elul, just before Rosh Hashanah. It’s a time for cheshbon henefesh and Teshuva.
Tragically, many Yidden as well as frum Yidden lost their lives on that horrible day. May Hashem avenge their blood.
Notably, members of Hatzolah, heroically aided during the 9/11 aftermath, and thankfully, none lost their lives while helping those escaping the burning towers.
