The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for several New York counties, effective from Monday at noon until Tuesday at 8 p.m. Affected areas include Herkimer, Fulton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Washington, Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene, Columbia, Ulster, Dutchess, and Warren counties. Heat index values are expected to range from the mid-90s to around 100 degrees.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, seek air-conditioned environments, and avoid sun exposure. It’s crucial to never leave children or pets in hot vehicles. For those who must work outdoors, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recommends frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas.
