Rebbetzin Tziporah Alter, the esteemed wife of Rabbi Pinchas Menachem Alter (known as the Pnei Menachem), niftar on Sunday at Maayanei Hayeshua hospital at the age of 98. Rebbetzin Tziporah had been in declining health and succumbed to a brief illness.

Rebbetzin Tziporah Alter was born into a distinguished Rebbish family, being the daughter of Rabbi Avrohom Mordechai Alter, and the great-granddaughter of the Sfas Emes. In 1946, she married her father’s cousin, Rabbi Pinchas Menachem Alter.

She played a significant role in her husband’s public life from 1957, supporting him as he served as the Rosh Yeshiva of Sfas Emes and later as the Gerer Rebbe.

Rebbetzin Tziporah is survived by her sons Rabbi Yaakov Meir, Rabbi Shaul, Rabbi Yitzchak David, Rabbi Daniel, and her son-in-law Rabbi Avraham Dov Liffel.
