A devastating fire erupted in a Pomona, New York Chassidim 110 shul, reducing the building to rubble and tragically burning the shul’s Sefer Torah. The blaze, which began around 5:30 am, engulfed the structure for hours despite efforts by multiple fire departments to extinguish it.
While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, the focus shifted to salvaging the Sifrei Torah. Volunteers from Chaverim, rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, the intense heat and water damage rendered two of the three seforim beyond repair.
Plans are underway for the Kevura, and the community has launched a fundraising campaign to aid in rebuilding and to cover the costs of the tragedy.
