Leaked Ceasefire Draft Shows Israel Conceding to Imbalanced Hostage Swap and Reconstruction Terms

A leaked draft of the Gaza ceasefire agreement reveals startling concessions by Israel, agreeing to withdraw from populated areas and participate in an uneven prisoner exchange.

Under the deal, 33 hostages—alive or deceased—will be returned to Israel, while the nation releases 30 Palestinian minors or women for each hostage, and 50 prisoners for each female soldier.

By Week Six, Israel will free 47 Palestinians arrested after the 2011 prisoner exchange and additional women and children detained after October 7, 2023.

The final phase includes returning hostage remains and implementing a reconstruction plan for Gaza, led by Egypt, Qatar, and the UN, over the next 3-5 years.

The agreement implies that only 30 of the 94 hostages in Gaza are believed to be alive, highlighting a disheartening imbalance that undermines Israel’s negotiating stance.
