The IRS will soon distribute up to $1,400 to around 1 million taxpayers who missed out on claiming the Recovery Rebate Credit on their 2021 tax returns.

These special payments, totaling $2.4 billion, will be automatically sent through direct deposit or paper checks by late January 2025, with no action required from eligible recipients.
