Biden Sets Record with 235 Judicial Confirmations, Surpassing Trump’s Total

The Senate confirmed Joe Biden’s 235th federal judge, setting a record for the most judicial confirmations in a single term in nearly 50 years and surpassing President Donald Trump’s total of 234. Biden highlighted the milestone in a statement, saying, “Judges shape our lives. I’m proud of those who heeded the call to serve, and of the legacy I’ll leave with the men and women I’ve appointed.”

Biden’s appointees include Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first Black woman on the Supreme Court, and a record number of public defenders and civil rights lawyers, reflecting his commitment to diversity in the judiciary. While Republicans praised Trump’s judicial legacy and vowed to expand it during his second term, Biden emphasized that his judges would leave a lasting impact on the country’s legal landscape.
