Ford plans to cut nearly 4,000 jobs in Europe over three years, citing declining electric vehicle demand and rising competition from Chinese automakers. The job reductions, representing about 14% of its European workforce, will focus on Germany and the UK and are expected to be completed by 2027.
Amid economic challenges, Ford is scaling back EV production targets and adjusting operations for its Explorer and Capri models. The company is also calling on European governments to improve policies supporting e-mobility, including better charging infrastructure and incentives for EV buyers.
