Today, on the 16th of Cheshvan, is the Yahrtzeit of Rabbi Elazar Menachem Man Shach (1894-2001).

From 1951, Rav Shach served as Rosh Yeshiva at Ponevezh under Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Kahaneman. He also led the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah, Chinuch Atzmai, Va’ad HaYeshivos, and co-founded the Degel HaTorah political party, shaping generations of Jewish education and leadership.
