Baruch Dayan Ha’emes, we regret to inform you of the petirah of habachur Arvin Nathaniel Ghahremani. He was 20 years old.
Arvin was a Jewish man from Iran, who was r”l executed after allegedly killing a man who ambushed him outside a gym with seven others.
Thousands of Yidden around the world davened daily for him finishing Tehillim many times for a better outcome. But despite advocates’ calls for a retrial and claims of self-defense, the Islamic Republic Yimach Shemam sentenced him to death under qisas law.
They reasoned the execution, now, had more to do with the Islamic Republic’s attacks on Israel and its deeply engrained antisemitism.
The regime pressured the victim’s family not to accept “blood money” from Arvin’s family in return for his freedom, reportedly because he was a Jew.
